PUBLIC HEARING & REGULAR MEETING VILLAGE OF NICHOLS
November 8, 2011
Call Budget Hearing to Order: By President Terry Scheller at 6:30 p.m., with Trustee’s Van Vleet, Pues, and Krull present. Also present: Roger Ort, Linda Hoes and Ruth Olson, and Officer Linskens.
Pledge of Allegiance: was recited by all in attendance.
Motion by: Van Vleet/Pues to reschedule Public Hearing due to SOA not received from the State and County, carried. Public Hearing and Special Meeting to adopt the 2012 budget set for November 22, 2012 @ 6:30 p.m.
Agenda: Motion by Scheller/Krull to amend the agenda to add Approval of Operators Licenses, carried.
Minutes: Motion by Pues/Krull to accept the minutes of the Regular Board Meeting on October 11, 2011, carried.
Guest: Officer Linskens reported there are still occurrences of random burglaries in the area and advised residents to keep their doors locked.
Treasurer’s Report: Motion by Van Vleet/Pues to accept the Treasurer’s Report, carried.
Bills to Approve: Motion by Krull/Van Vleet to pay the bills beginning with check #14231-14278 with 2 online payments. The Village Water Utility checks #1799-1801, carried.
Water & Sewer Report:
• Satisfied with road reconstruction on Krull Road.
• Street Sweeper will go through this week. Weather permitting.
• Sludge tank emptied.
• Winterizing completed this week.
• Letter will be sent to resident regarding condition of tree located near the road on property.
• Estimate reviewed on DOT inspection repairs.

New Business:
• President Scheller appointed Trustee Pues and Van Vleet to sit on Insurance & Personnel committee.
• Adopt 2012 budget, tabled until November 22, 2011 special meeting.
• Garbage & Sewer Rate increase, tabled.
• Flat rate utility charge, tabled.
• Resolution read, no action taken.
• Motion by Van Vleet/Pues to approve New Operators Licenses for Santos Bowleg and Jennifer Vandenhoy, carried.

Future Agendas: Public Hearing and Special Meeting to adopt 2012 budget.
Saturday, December 3, 2011 Santa Parade starts at NOON.
Adjourn: Motion by Krull/Pues to adjourn, carried. 8:25 p.m.
