REGULAR MEETING - VILLAGE OF NICHOLS
January 10, 2012
Call to Order: By President Terry Scheller at 6:30 p.m., with Trustee’s Figlinski, Van Vleet, Pues, and Krull present. Also present: Roger Ort, Linda Hoes and Ruth Olson, and Officer Schuette.
Pledge of Allegiance: was recited by all in attendance.
Agenda: Motion by Van Vleet/Figlinski to approve the agenda with two amendments. Add Nichols Nitros to Unfinished Business and Audit letter of Engagement from Schenck to New Business, carried.
Guest: Officer Schutte listened to concerns over traffic patterns within the Village.
Minutes: Motion by Pues/Van Vleet to accept the minutes of the Regular Board Meeting on December 13, 2011, carried.
Treasurer’s Report: Motion by Van Vleet/Figlinski to accept the Treasurer’s Report, carried.
Bills to Approve: Motion by Pues/Krull to pay the bills beginning with check #14308-14340 with 3 online payments. The Village Water Utility checks #1805-1807, carried.
Water & Sewer Report:
• Town of Cicero has been contacted for salting the Village roads when needed.
• A few spots in the Village roads will be touched up with a cold patch.
• Backflow preventer inspection was done; passed.
• Cross Connection Inspections for commercial properties will be done.
Unfinished Business:
• Nichols Nitros is requesting the Village of Nichols to take ownership of the Park Pavilion with the ball team leasing the building. A committee will be formed between team members and President Scheller and Trustee Van Vleet to draw up a lease agreement.
• The clerk will do research regarding the Village becoming a 501c3 entity for tax deductible donations for the new pavilion.
New Business:
• Motion by Van Vleet/Pues to sign the letter of engagement agreement for Schenck to do the 2011 audit, carried.
Correspondence reviewed
Future Agendas: Lease agreement with the Nichols Nitros, Class C License for Memories Gourmet Pizza Company.
Adjourn: Motion by Pues/Krull to adjourn, carried. 7:45 p.m.
