Notice to all residents of Nichols Rural Fire Department district.

Nichols Rural Fire Department (NRFD) will host a Fire Prevention Safety and Open House
Stop in at the fire station September 16th 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm.

Activities include:

• Using a fire extinguisher use on live burns.

• Testing your skills and training the family on correct fire extinguisher usage.

• Picking up literature on what to do in case of fire.

• Applying for free smoke detectors installation.

• Checking out the fire department vehicles.

• Enjoying free hot dogs and drinks.

　

Nichols Rural Fire has been awarded a grant to purchase 10-year sealed smoke detectors. These smoke detectors run on batteries that do not need to be changed for 10 years!

The NRFD purchased 500 of these detectors for residences within the fire district. All you have to do to apply for the detector is fill in the application form (attached) and drop the form off on Sept. 16th . All applications will be processed and final determination will be made by the fire department. Qualified applicants will have a smoke detector installed in the home by the Nichols Rural Fire Fighters at no charge.

If you are interested in a smoke detector but are unable to attend the open house event, contact your township or village representatives for installation application information ( numbers listed below).
